Community Clarification Regarding the Adult Prom Fundraiser
I want to take a moment to clarify some information being discussed on social media regarding the Adult Prom fundraiser scheduled for January 17, 2026.
At this time, there is no record of a fundraising request submitted or approved for a senior parent–sponsored Adult Prom event planned for March or at any other time this school year. No fundraising form was submitted to the high school office or the district office for this event.
The Marsing Band and Choir, however, did follow the required fundraising procedures. A fundraising request was submitted on October 21, 2025; it was approved by Mr. Porter on October 27, 2025, and by me, as Superintendent, on November 4, 2025. The January 17 Adult Prom is the result of that approved request.
Unfortunately, this misunderstanding has led to heated conversations across multiple social media platforms. We hope the unnecessary arguing and personal attacks will end, and that our community can refocus its energy on supporting our students.
The Band and Choir students followed district procedures appropriately, and we encourage anyone who is able to support their efforts by attending this event. Thank you to those who continue to model respect, kindness, and community pride.
